Nigel has been advising both employers and employees upon employment law issues for almost 30 years and as such there are very few aspects of employment law in which he hasn’t gained significant experience.
Nigel is head of the employment team and is passionate about providing practical, down to earth, easy to understand advice. The variety of work includes advice upon the ending of employment relationships, redundancy planning, tribunal claims, settlement agreements, discrimination claims and contract drafting as well as providing training.
Nigel has provided advice across many business sectors, these being as diverse as housebuilding, employment agencies, education, retail and care homes. Nigel has often acted for Senior Executives in exiting companies and in bringing claims and has been involved in nationally profiled cases including a positive discrimination case against Gloucestershire Constabulary and race and sex discrimination claims for senior employees within the NHS.
Nigel qualified as a mediator in 1994 and has subsequently gained substantial experience as a workplace mediator and/resolving disputes when the aim is to continue employment relationships – and also employment mediations where the aim is to resolve a dispute once the employment relationship has ended. Nigel is used to mentor and train inexperienced and prospective mediators.

“Nigel worked wonders … I have seen both parties and both are much happier and better able to work together – and I understand the whole team feel better too.
