Employment Law and the Enterprise Act 2016

On 4th May 2016 the Enterprise Act received royal ascent. Some of the provisions for Employers in this act are:-

  • Capping exit payments in the public sector to £90,000
  • Regulating use of the word “apprenticeship” to cover only government-accredited schemes,
  • and establishing a new institute for apprenticeships
  • Increasing retail workers rights in relation to Sunday working and not suffering a detriment if they refuse
